"The candle I purchased has good scent throw and I don't seem to have any problems with the wicks. The only issue I really have is with the scent itself. I can't decide if I like it or not. It's a very interesting smell and definitely is masculine to me. It reminds me of a dark study or old quiet library. I'll continue burning this candle but I don't think I'll be repurchasing it."

Love it!!!
"I totally love this scent! I liked the smell in the store so I tried it. I never thought the scent throw would be as awesome as it is. My whole house smells of this candle and that's what I look for when I buy them. My husband likes the smell also so I plan on stocking up on this one.if you don't like a heavy scent this may not be for you, but if you want a candle that smells run to the store now!"

Another Winner!
"This is one of my favorite scents thus far from BBW. I love that this scent is more gender neutral and isn't blatantly a perfume or a food or a girly-fruity-floral scent. This is more sophisticated.
I love the warm spiciness of black pepper. I love the bergamot in Earl Grey tea. This scent is warm, a hint of spicy, with a dash of bracing bergamot and soothing lavender. It has everything I love all wrapped into one!
I can see why a lot of reviewers would automatically categorize this as a "masculine" scent. Compared to my other favorite, Mahogany Teakwood, this is decidedly less sweet... And they are both not very sweet to begin with. I can see the majority of females running for the Mahogany Teakwood, but I really appreciate the organic quality of this scent. Simple, clean, warm."

Soft and Sensual
"This candle is a winner! I read reviews that the scent is weak but I took a chance anyway and I'm glad I did. It's not weak to me, it's soft. Black Pepper & Bergamont is a sensual, cozy fragrance that is meant to be in the background. It's kind of woodsy and clean. Kind of reminds me of a fresh smelling mens cologne or soap. I've received so many compliments on this smell. My mom who likes her house to smell like a bakery said I like my home to 'just smell good.' And yes, I do."

AWFUL MISTAKE
"When you have created an outstanding formula, WHY would you change it?
The BLACK PEPPER BERGAMOT this year is a total disappointment!
I was planning on really stocking up if they brought this candle back again from last year's line! WELL, I burned my first one and there is very little similarity from last year's candle!!! The fragrance strength is weak and doesn't even compare to last year.
I am returning the back up stock I had purchased.
Bring back last year's formula and I will purchase a minimum of a DOZEN!"

"This scent has a good throw, that is for sure. It is not my favorite by far. It is a very strong scent and is extremely masculine, although my husband actually said it stunk. If I were to recommend it, I would have to say it is scent best suited in a man's home. It is not a warming or pleasant scent for any room in my home anyway.
I am returning the one I got and will leave the rest for those who seem to really like it definately not one I will buy again."

Not for me...
"The first time I lit this I was happy with it. The burn and throw are awesome. The second day I actually got a headache from the strong scent. On second burn, it smell purely of mens soap to me...just very heavy and masculine smelling. I will finish burning the one I have, slowly, but have already returned the other of the same scent. It is personal preferance and I know alot of people do like it. I would recommend it (aside from the fact I don't like the scent) because it has a flawless burn."

NOT A FAN
"I do like the color of the candle and the sticker decal on the candle but honestly I am not a fan of this candle. I ordered this one online expecting a lot better, but this one is not for me. It does have a masculine scent to it, but one that reminds me of older men, like my grandpas era. Its not horrible but not great at all. I have had a little wick problems on this one too but they worked themselves out after a few burns. No, I would not recommend to a friend but maybe a little ol' man who needs a certain smell in in his study or something."

Wish it were stronger!
"Scent is alluring cold, but the wicks barely produce flame so the throw is weak. I've found that to be the case with the fall White Barn candles I ordered. Slatkin is higher quality & performs better. This is a sensual candle scent that I really hope will be improved w/ better wicks & stronger fragrance. Other reviewers are also voicing wick & performance issues w/ this & other WB candles. BBW listens to feedback & responds by trying to improve products. I'm hoping that happens for this candle & all White Barn candles in time for the winter collection since I use BBW candles daily."

Not even close to Last Year's
"Make no mistake, this is truly the most unique scent I've ever found in a candle and I absolutely adore it so I planned on stashing tons when it got released this year. I was soooo bummed when I lit the first one and couldn't smell it my living room. I even tried containing it in the boys bathroom just to experiment with a smaller space and even in there, throw was just average. If you don't prefer strong candles or never had the previous version then it may work for you but for those of us who know better, this one just won't cut it. Sorry~ I hope they can get it corrected. PS- In desperation, I opened a wallflower and used it in the burner and found I can get my fix that way!"

Smells great but...
"Smells nice but not the quality I expect from BBW. The wicks aren't the same quality as Slatkin candles. They either barely burn so there is almost no flame or make tiny little explosions of soot if you don't trim them. While I still enjoy the fragrance, it doesn't have much throw. I ordered several fall candles while they were on sale, a few Slatkin and a few White Barn. White Barn just doesn't have the same quality, fragrance strength and even burn. Lots of tunneling and I already mentioned the wicks. Save yourself some headache and order only the fall scents from BBW/Slatkin."

All time favorite
"I LOVE LOVE LOVE this scent. I wait for this all year long and stock up when it finally does come. I've already purchased and stored 8 candles this month, and I'm sure i will get more so I can burn them all year long. Long-lasting, and amazing fragrance - it lingers around the house for days.

Love the smell but...
"Love the smell of this candle but I can't get it to burn right. I bought 3 of these because the peppery smell of the candle just really appeals to me but I am frustrated by the candle going out. It's not burning right at all."

"Purchased this candle because at first sniff from the jar it smells amazing. Also purchased other white barn candles by realizing they were white barn. The white barn candles do not scent the room. I prefer Slatkin & Co."

Weak fragrance
"I remember reading about this last year but it was already gone from the stores. So when I saw it this year, I grabbed a mini candle. There wasn't the sharp attack of pepper that I expected. Overall, the fragrance notes are muted and weak. I was very disappointed."

Wonderful Scent, So-So Throw
"I bought this based purely on reviews because I was looking for a good candle for our boudoir that wasn't something that my husband wouldn't find too feminine. I opened the jar and looooooved the smell. It was spicy, sexy, and masculine, but not toooooo masculine. Just enough to make the balance slightly more in "his" favor. My only complaint is that I have to be really, really close to this to be able to smell it. Not sure if it was because the ceiling fan has been on and it's blowing the smell around where it's not noticeable, or if the throw is just weak. Bought this in a Wallflower and hoping it does a better job. I love the candle's cold scent, just wish it had a better throw."
