Smells Odd
"It's funny how the reviews on this candle vary so much, with some saying it is too strong and others saying it is not strong enough, and some saying the scent is yummy, while others think it is nasty. My take on it is that it has a strong, sour smell. It smells nothing like hot buttered rum. I noticed the same unpleasant smell in the Plum Wine candle, so maybe it comes from trying to imitate the smell of alcohol (rum and wine, respectively) in these candles? In any event, it smells very off, and I would not buy it."

Strong yet Relaxing
"I can't smell the rum in it BUT it does smell like butterscotch. The name is a bit misleading but at least the candle smells good."

Not much throw on this one
"Had this burning for several hours on the night stand next to my bed while I read. Could barely detect a scent. Wont be buying this one again."

I can smell some rum in there
"I really loved the hot buttered rum candle from slatkin &co and now I wanted to try out this one. I really like it too, but not as much as the slatkin&co one. In this one I can't smell the rum inside, I really have to go close to the candle with my nose to get a rum scent, the other one really smelled like rum and caramel. i think this one is okey and maybe I will buy it again but if I could choose, I would take the one from slatkin. This scent is like a fudge caramel with a hint of rum, but I think if the name is hot buttered RUM, then it should smell more like rum. All in allit is a good candle and I love teh scent as a caramel scent."

"I didn't really get Hot Buttered Rum out of this scent. It smelled like caramel to me. It did have a good, even burn and the scent throw was good. It wasn't a memorable scent for me, so I probably will not re-purchase it."

So good
"I actually bought the mini one of these and plan on getting the 4 oz one very soon. It smells like those little butter rum candies. So good! The fragrance is not as strong as some of the other candles I've bought from BBW but I've never got a White Barn one before, only Slatkin and I wonder if that's why? All in all it's still a good candle, I'd buy it again."

No hot buttered rum here!
"It did not have the strongest cold smell, but I decided to give it a try. It burns nice, but there is less throw than there is cold smell. It is disappointing. Stay away!"
